As a member of the EU, Denmark is part of the international climate negotiations in the UN, but concurrently participates in other international collaboration on climate issues, which further and support the UN’s climate negotiations.
Work in support of the negotiations is carried out in international forums such as the G20, and specifically, a series of informal meetings at various levels. The meetings are organised as and when required. Among other, the current COP chairmanship organises meetings. Other large operators have established forums to discuss the climate, e.g. MEF, Major Economies Forum, which was started by the US, and latest the Cartagena Dialogue, which is a direct result of the climate negotiations in the UN.
Through the Danish Climate Pool, Denmark participates in a number of country-based initiatives that support the international efforts to further international collaboration on climate issues.
