Internal Energy Market

One of the EU’s most important milestones is to ensure a true internal energy market for the benefit of consumers and businesses in the EU.

However, there is a need for revising and strengthening the current common rules, as they do not sufficiently support the development of a properly functioning internal energy market.

The following links provide more information about the European Commission’s action plan for energy security, its proposals for deregulating electricity and gas markets in the third deregulation package, as well as the plans to expand the energy infrastructure in the EU, as called for in the third deregulation package.
