Expansion of renewable energy capacity

18-12-2008

Today a majority in the Danish parliament passed a new law for expanding sustainable energy in Denmark

The law will come into effect 1st of January 2009 and secures better conditions for windturbines and other sustainable energy like biogas and bioenergy.

“I am pleased to see an almost united parliament has agreed this is the right way to do things. Never before has Denmark expanded sustainable energy sources like we do now. We are making massive expansions in the wind power sector and we are increasing subsidies to sustainable energy in general. It is a historical agreement,” said the minister of Climate and Energy, Connie Hedegaard.
